What is A Local Living Economy?--Bellingham, Washington

Journey of Action traveled to Bellingham, Washington to highlight the non-profit Sustainable Connections and the local living economy they have helped create.

The Conscious Community movement got its start 8 years ago as a Local Economy effort. Dave Asher now has built a wonderful Northern Nevada based Buy Local Effort

sweet it is!  been to Bellingham a number of times and the San Juans.  thanks for sharing, Richard.  wonder what Journey of Action would think of paying a visit to Reno?  our Great Basin Food Co-0p, Nevada Grown, Slow Food Reno, David Asher's efforts with LiveLocalRenoSparks and the new Vassar Cordone Business Co-op, Urban Roots Classroom Gardens, Sierra Nevada Journeys, Rainshadow School, River School, CC and more, and all the predecessors are good stories.  Nevada EcoNet and Sierra Green Building Association (SiGBA) have their "Green (Resource) Guides" in addition to the original local business directory by CCBN.  wondering why it's still feeling so small to me?  Keep On!

Great thoughts.  We have the talent here in northern Nevada that could put together our own video production--maybe someone will pick up the idea here and run with it.  That is one hope for this site--that can act as a catalyst for Good in all its forms.
