CARSON CITY SONG CIRCLE--It's On!

I think it was Jim that referred me to Patsy.

 

Patsy and I met at Comma Coffee to strategize on how to start a Carson City SONG CIRCLE. We made a list of things to do. The first thing on the list was to post announcements around Carson.
We agreed to meet the next day at Comma Coffee. Overnight I had the intuition that Comma Coffee would be a logical meeting site for the first SONG CIRCLE meeting. The next day we consulted June about it and she was delighted to host the SONG CIRCLE at Comma Coffee. 
We've picked the 3rd Wed in May, May 18, from 7-9 PM for the first meeting. We'd love to have you come and sing along with us.
The text for the group is entitled RISE UP SINGING. It has 1200 songs with words and chords! If you plan to come you should consider:
1) emailing us and giving us a registration name and number of attendees
2) suggesting what particular song(s) you would enjoy singing with a group
3) mentioning the kind of musical instrument you might be willing to offer as accompanyment to the group--ie. piano, guitar, banjo, ukelele, string bass, mandolin, harmonica, etc...
4) figuring out how to get a copy of RISE UP SINGING!

Congrats David:  I am so happy that you were able to move forward.  Those of you who have friends in Carson City/and or others from Reno who would like to join David, please offer support.  You might consider forwarding this information to your "people" in Carson City.  Weaving works!

September Update:

We are continuing with Carson Song Circle. This month's will be on Wednesday, Sept 21, at a private home on the West side, starting at 6:30 pm. Please call Stan or Johanna at 775-461-5284 for details.

 

Note: We are thinking of moving the monthly sessions to the first Friday of the month - stay tuned for October details.

Thank you for your reply and suggestions. I have added the listing to visitcarsoncity.com and carsonnow.org 

I previously submitted the event to the Nevada Appeal and Record Courier but not to the Reno papers (one wanted a specific address).

 

We have a few Rise Up Singing copies available for sale as well as loaner copies. Please pass the word!

Another guitar player would be welcome! The next Carson song circle will be in our home on the west side of Carson City on Sunday, December 4, at 4 pm. Potluck dinner follows at 6 pm.
